Hasselblad X You Winner!

Let me start by saying that I rarely win anything. Maybe it’s because I only play the lotto whenever the numbers are big and there is a lottery frenzy or because I never enter any other sort of contest, makes sense right? So when I saw the “Hasselblad X You” weekly contest I almost wrote it off. I alway figure these things are rigged or I wont stand out enough because everybody and their mom is going to enter. You know, just negativity and self doubt leaning on my shoulder whispering in my ear. For some reason though I figured, why not just submit a photo? We had just done an excellent set with Vivica from Margaux and our talented makup artist friend Bethany Garita so I went ahead and submitted one and said “take that negativity and by the way, shut up next time”. Ok… I didn’t really say it but I felt it. I woke up very surprised to see that I had won for the week and had the choice of selecting a lens that I have been keeping an eye on since it was released along with some cool stuff from Peak Design and PolarPro. I felt a sense of validation along with a question of what else am I holding myself back from. I guess this post isn’t to only express my excitement for winning but also to say, dont second guess yourself, seize opportunity and always put yourself out there. You never know who is watching, who you will inspire or who will contact you for a job (or awesome contest goodies). What are you holding yourself back from?
